Getting Started

So the day you meet Ana is one of the best most exciting days, you will be extremely motivated and energetic and want to do everything at once. It should be like this for the first few days, but once you hit day 5 or 6 you are tired, cold, hungry, and wanting to quit. Or maybe you just don't know what to do at that point?

Getting started: Day 1/Week 1

Make yourself an Ana journal.

This is where you put EVERYTHING! After a month or two you will most likely need a new one, you put motivational quotes, tips, pictures in there, meal plans, workouts, routines, bad foods, good foods, foods that affect weight loss and foods that boost metabolism, it will also be food log, diary; etc. You must refer to it for any and everything because it will usually have the answer if you keep up with it enough.
(you might want to hide it if you have nosy family)

Make a workout routine.

After you have your journal you will need to make a workout routine as having a workout routine is more important then knowing what you will be eating every day! Cardio is the best as most all Cardio exercises burn fat instantaneously (running/jogging/swimming/step-aerobics/jumping jacks). ALWAYS stay moving, always stand and never stop talking at dinner! (Fast Tip: singing burns more cal. than talking)

Make a food/meal plan.

So now after you have steps 1 and 2 done, make your meal plan. This is fun because there are several things you can do! You can follow the ABC diet (above) so your calories vary every day, you can follow someone else's meal plan or make your own to have a set number of cal. you can take in everyday so you don't have to worry about it when you think about how much you need to burn off that day. Or finally, you can just stick to the "only eat when absolutely starving" thing. I pretty much eat only one time and drink 3 bottles of purified water every day, but I usually wait to eat until late. (Awake till 3 sometimes 4 AM up at 11 AM or 12 PM) My routine is I wake up at 11/12, eat around 5pm-11pm and stay up all night working it off.

Find your motivation.

Other then supplying tips, methods, tricks, my own advice and problems, and thinspiration, there is not much I can say or do to help you. Personal motivation comes from within, use your insecurities and fears, that is where you will usually find the motivation that you need (example: you want to go to beach but afraid of showing belly in bikini or meeting bf for the first time) You, and you alone can find this motivation, no one can help you! It is like human instinct, naturally a human's will to live alone can give a weak, starving child the strength of 10 grown men right? Right. So find the will to be thin!

Don't say tomorrow start TODAY.

Even if it is 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 O'clock at night, start right NOW! Do not say "I will just start tomorrow" because if you do you will trigger this thinking as well: "Well since it is my last day it and I won't do it again, I might as well binge while I can!" Don't do it!! Start NOW, tonight, today, whatever! Do not start the cycle of "I'll start tomorrow," or "I messed up oh well there is always tomorrow!" HOWEVER! If you binge or eat/slip up, feel guilty for a while think about what you have done and really get a good feel for how shitty you feel so next time you want to binge, you won't. After you are done feeling guilty, move on because there is always tomorrow, what I meant is, don't tell yourself since you binged just keep eating because tomorrow you will do better, no, just stop right there and move on!!

I cannot think of what else you would need so I guess that is that.

Now, after a while it will become routine, it won't get easier or anything but you will get better, become more cunning, and therefore you won't struggle as much. However, every time you slip, every time you cheat, every time you tell yourself "there is always tomorrow" you are making everything much, much worse. You are pushing thin away and it will take even longer for your body to adjust to this new lifestyle.

  1. I still have many questions about pro ana life. What foods are good to increase motabolism? Should my calorie intake be all at once? Or spread out through the day. Today is my first day. I decided to take in 400 cals at breakfast, and nothing else but water Today. I have 2 months before an event and im very overweight. Please help me speed up the process over this time!! Thx in advance!!

    1. You cannot literally "increase" your metabolism only increase the burning of fat/calories and increase the efficiency of how your body burns fat storage. The best foods to eat are obviously raw vegetables and fruit, spicy spicy *spicy* foods will help.

Whatever works better for you, I tend to not eat all day and eat all at once in which turns into a binge fairly easily, I suggest you set meal times and eat at those specific times and have your meals pre-planned.

The BEST way for fast weight loss like you and I both need is to water fast! You can do interval (fasting every other day/only x amount of days out of the week) or you can fast x amount of days straight (best to fast 10-21 days you lose 20+ pounds). Also eating a healthy breakfast is a good start, make sure you work out in the mornings before you eat to jump start your metabolism. ALSO for the time being dedicate yourself to a VEGETARIAN diet this means NO meat not even fish, but you can still have dairy, grains, fruit, veggies etc. Also no sweets or foods high in fat! ALWAYS check the calories (example: 300 calories 250 from fat) that is 75% fat!! So be careful of that too and good luck girly!!

  2. Is it good enough to skip breakfast and lunch and have a dinner of 400-900 calories?

    1. No, dinner should be the smallest meal of the day due to the fact that you will be going to bed right after. UNLESS you eat dinner at 4-6pm and can workout between then and bed, I'd advise against that.
