In absolutely no particular order, this is my top ten tips, so without further ado:
1.Water! This is a no-brainer, and you should be drinking plenty of water every day any way. For several reasons, water helps your hair and skin, it keeps your body cleaned out, it helps with digestion, and of course keeps you hydrated. Often fat people, or over-eaters rather eat so much that they can't even tell if they are truly hungry or not, and most of the time when you think you are hungry, you are really just dehydrated. It is 0 calories and helps you health wise, drink up!
2. Wear revealing or tight clothes. This is only to be done when you are alone and/or at home. When you wear tight clothes your fat will be noticed more easily versus you wearing baggy clothes to conceal it, same for revealing clothes (underwear, bathing suit, shorts and training bra; etc.) if you are forced to face your fat then you will stay on track and be more motivated to work out and stay moving! Also, buy clothes a size or two smaller so you will have to lose weight to wear them. You will also be motivated when you try to squeeze your thighs into those tight-legged jeans and fail!
3. Pinch and prod your body in the mirror, this must be done in your underwear for the full effect but you can do it in a tank and shorts or anything equally revealing. Pinching your fat is a major confidence bust and will cause you to feel more than a little disgusted with yourself and force you to work out. (Working out boosts confidence and makes you feel great so it is well worth it!)
4. 1000 calorie diet. No more, no less. You MUST take multi-vitamins, calcium tablets, Biotin (for hair, skin, and nails) and any other vitamin for specific needs such as iron, calcium, Vitamins E, D, B, C; etc. This will help your body so it does not have to work so-so hard. I will have a meal plan available for those who want it. Also, I advise you think of the 1000 cal. as money, spend it wisely! You should go to Target or Wal-Mart and spend a good bit of money on Nutrition bars, you need to be willing to spend 200-300 cal. per bar. this should be something you eat every other day, make *sure* that the ones you bought supply nearly everything you need, maybe buy a variety and eat a different one every day.
5. Chew, chew, SPIT! This is a life saver when craving a burger or candy bar, and it strengthens your will power! It is also *much* safer then forcing yourself to throw up! Please do not ever do that, if you already do, then *stop*, research the long term effects of it and if you still want to continue then by all means go ahead.
6. Inspiration when you are weak! Frequent pro-ana sites, forums and blogs, it is a confidence boost and it renews your strength to keep going! Look at models, find one you love and use her as your thinspiration model, make a Rexy Bible/Thinspiration journal, this is where you write meal plans, put pictures of yourself and models, as well as hot guys/girls for inspiration, this is where you put notes, exercises, and pictures of bugs to look at when you want fattening foods.
7. Wear a rubber band. This is the most effective thing to keep you from craving and to keep your mind off of sweets. I find it best to avoid the kitchen and thought of food at all costs as it only raises temptation, when food comes to mind, pop the rubber band on your wrist as hard as you want, as many times as you want. Just enough that your mind jumps to something else, eventually you will train your mind to not think about food, and it will be quicker to stray from food.
8. Get plenty of sleep you can burn up to 500 calories for sleeping 8 hours, that is great for doing nothing, same for TV, working on posture and reading. So take a break at least one day a week, do some yoga poses, relax, take a long hot shower, and basically pamper yourself! This helps TONS! It will also shock your body enough that your routine workout will start showing better results again, as your body had time to readjust to its old, lazy ways. And remember, you *have* to eat sometimes, or your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose any weight, your body will eat at the fat as well as muscles i.e the heart. Give yourself one day every week to eat 1800-1900 calories, it will boost your metabolism enough that you will start losing weight again and it will trick your body so it will not think it is starving!

Though most of you won't do any exercise that involves jumping anyways, if you stop working out and completely give up on Ana and binge, do jumping jacks in front of the mirror: naked, in underwear or bathing suit. Do not give up, ever! Find a buddy online, or increase intake to 1200 every day if you must so that your diet is more realistic to your psychological, physical needs.
10. Wear a RED bracelet on your left hand so that other pro-Ana's can identify you. This will help you feel a part of something so you won't feel lonely, or excluded. This is *your* braclet, go to Michaels, or any store that sells art/craft stuff and by red beads/jewels/thread/bands/charms anything, and make it you. The only musts are, you have to wear it on left arm and it can ONLY be red. Blue is for Mia (Bulimia) and any other colour added will make it impossible to recognize as pro-ana. Be Safe. Be Strong. Have Hope.

I really think that you should change the site color to blue and black instead of red and black as red is a color proven to make people more hungry and want to eat!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is too gross or weird but sometimes when I've been in a really bad binge period I'll keep a glass jar or bottle of food (raw meat works especially well) mixed with water, it doesn't take long to get gross. When I want to binge I'll take it out and use the putrid smell to put me off food. Make sure it seals well though or the smell could get out onto other things.
